To actuate the valve
press the cover plate gently & release. Do not keep it pressed.
CARE:
Do not clean with strong detergent or acids. Do not lubricate parts,
as they are self-
lubricating.

How
to Adjust / Close Flow of Water |
First
the cover plate has to be removed as shown in C. Turn the adjustment
key as shown in 4 as per required direction as shown in 5. Press the
Adjusting Screw & release to check the flow. After the required
flow is set return the Adjustment key in the Horizontal position. If
the valve needs to be closed for repair or to stop continuous leakage
of water through the pot (which happens due to dirt in the water), then
the key can be rotated clockwise till it reaches its last position.
(here the key need not be put in horizontal position again).

How
to remove Cover plate & Access the valve |
As shown in 1 first
disengage the lock by pushing the lever upwards with some tool and pull
the cover plate outwards 2 till it comes out as in 3.
| D |
How
to reinstall cover plate |
Position the cover
plate as shown in 7 and press it from top (only) till the pin engages
into the hinge. Then push the cover plate to engage the lock 8. The
lock prevents cover plate from being pulled out accidentally.
If
the flush valve does not close and water keeps leaking in the pot ?
This can happen when dirt or foreign particles from water obstruct the
valve mechanism and prevent its closing. To prevent wastage of water
for the time being, You can close the valve by rotating the adjustment
key clockwise (after removing the cover plate as shown before), then
call the technician to clean the mechanism and start the flush valve
again. In case the adjustment key also has become tight and cannot be
turned then the supply can be stopped by closing the main gate valve
fitted outside the bathroom.
If
the flush valve's operation gets jammed or too much force is required
to press the cover plate? This can happen sometimes when dirt is blocked
in the valve mechanism. You can call the technician to service valve.
However DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START THE FLUSH VALVE WITH FORCE. Use it only
after the cover plate can be pressed smoothly & gently as before.
Too much force on cover plate can damage the plastic base.
NOTE: Most international standards recommend use of
strainers before any type of valve (viz. flush valve, non return valve,
pressure reducing valve, safety valve etc.) to avoid malfunctioning
due to dirt particles. Alternatively strainers of the easy / self-clean
type can be provided in the main lines after the supply tank.
If
you are pressing the cover plate but there is no resistance or spring
action on it and valve is not being actuated ? This can happen when
the Adjusting Screw's position has accidentally shifted inwards. First
remove cover plate as shown before in C to access the valve.
Rest
the sides of the gauge (Supplied with the valve) as in 10 on tile surface
and rotate the Adjusting screw 11 anti clockwise so that it comes outwards
until it touches the inside edge of the paper gauge. Then tighten the
nut in full clockwise direction to lock the position of the screw. Re-install
the cover plate as illustrated in D. While pressing the cover plate
now some force or spring action must be felt. This means that the valve
is being actuated. However if the amount of discharged water is too
less (or even if it is more) see "How to Adjust Flow/Volume of
water" as in B.
This
